It has been suggested that convicted criminals work and their earnings used to help victims of crime.
I think that this is an excellent idea, if having to work 40 hours a week, for little or no pay, doesn't cut down the crime statistics, nothing will.

From my point of view I think most people in prison are better off than when they are outside and thats why they have no fear of it. They have all food provided, a bed for the night, morons of equal intelligence, no committments and no bills and access to sex (of a kind) ... and to cap it all they dont have to do a days work.

I think when joining prison the offender should be given the basics a cell, a bed, a shelf to put their possesion on, a loo and thats that. Then depending on behavoiur and committment they should then be able to earn, a daily newspaper, a TV, a Chessboard, books etc. If they then break rules anything they have earned would be taken a way from them.

Unless we make prison so much more less comfortable than when these morons are on the outside they will never have any fear of going back again. Life is too easy for most.
