Reasonable but if you decide to convert to take a digital back, I think you would need the AFD II. I was reading that Mamiya will convert some of the film cameras for digital. If you are only interested in film though, that wouldn't matter and this would be a reasonably good deal. Check ebay.com (not .uk) to see what they are going for over on this side of the pond.

Price-wise? No idea.

Quality-wise?

Up there with the best.

FWIW.

Good luck.

That camera is in Japan so you could get hit for 20% VAT on top of that price and maybe some duty as well. BIN price + Postage is 476 and the VAT would be 95, so you're looking at 570 and probably no warranty. I'd look in the UK first as a safer bet.

??????????

Snappers comment is very valid re costs etc... but I fail to see the difference between the the two you have found - and start to question your motivations for wanting the camera.

The second camera is located in the USA so snappers points re VAT etc still apply!

Import Duty would be charged at 4.2% for medium format film bodies plus 6.7% on the lens.

I had a previous generation of Mamiya 645 for several years. Wonderful camera. Lovely lenses. If it can be converted for digital use even better. Film is still relatively plentiful, but that situation will not last forever.

There's a 645 AFD on ebay with digi back for circa 2k. Looks like a bargain for the premium over the film only ones.
