    Help! Ive lost my tripod plate to my Manfrotto 290 series tripod ive searched everywhere and i really dont want to pay £50 + for a new piece of metal, i was wondering if anyone new where i would be able to get one of these plates cheaper?

    Try Calumet but I doubt you'll get it any cheaper than Manfrotto direct.

    You can buy the RC2 plate (the grey bit) cheaply from China on Ebay. I purchased a couple for permanent attachment to telephotos. Allow 3 weeks for delivery

    Just the quick release plate is on the manfrotto site for £15.95

    Doesn't everyone. And the postage is free.

    But I think the OP needs more than that. It's the spotting scope attachment that seems to up the price.
