I know it's either a love it or hate it relationship - but Marmite chocolate is now in the shops for any fellow Marmite lovers on epz.
Marmite "Very Peculiar" Chocolate
We tried some yesterday and it is as the label says, "Very Peculiar". It's not in the big supermarkets yet - I found it in Robert Dyas
and it's also in BHS and Debenhams.
It initially tastes very smooth but there is the famous Marmite after taste (love it or hate it LOL) as you would expect from a chocolate bar containing Marmite, onion and garlic.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm - yummy!!!!!!
urgh! I love Marmite... but in chocolate! Step too far methinks, like putting play equipment in libraries, daft idea
lol
I shall definitely try it!
It's not a new idea though. I was watching a television programme (I think it was Antiques Roadshow, last Sunday) and a gentleman came on with a collection of really old chocolate bars. There nestled amongst the bars was an OXO bar - it said it had 'beefy goodness'!!
I tried it and loved it - it's just like really smooth milk chocolate but with a definite and strong Marmite after taste.
You'll know you've tried it for a couple of hours afterwards...........
Quite right Big Bri ![]()
I eat plenty of Marmite and will keep a bar in my desk at work every day now just to keep the smokers breath away from me when they come back from their smoking break in the office ![]()
I wonder if Marmite works on vampires as well......................................
@KarenFB - ROFL
Should I breathe towards the midges and light the Marmite powered breath like some fire breathing dragon? ![]()
Very odd - just come back from holiday in Crete where we spent some time with CarolG - who spreads marmite on kitkats! Obviously a trend setter!!
