The Independent newspaper web site has a great article in their science section today (22/06/2009) about the use of a super-powerful camera, mounted on the NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, to take spectacular landscape shots of the Martian surface. The photographs are amazing and awesome to look at, and certainly bring a cosmic angle to landscape photography.
I wonder what wide-angle lens and filter set they use!?

Thanks for the link Nigey. HiRise is an brilliant bit of kit. Especially it's resolution - topographically accurate to 25cm!
