I used to live in Seavington St.Micheal (Four miles away from Ilminster), and spent a lot of time wandering the many lanes looking for photo' opportunities. Took a lot of nice countryside and wildlife shots.
Good luck in your new home,

I think your nearest 'club' is in Taunton, although I was never a member.

Hi Fred

I have been advised to go to Taunton and plan to at some time but at the moment I get lost leaving Ilton where we live so I think it will be a little while before it go to a club, my sense of direction it hopeless Smile I have a Tomtom but don't trust them fully as this is the third one in as many months let's hope this one is not faulty too!

As for wondering about with the camera I don't feel safe doing this on my own anymore and was hoping to find someone like minded who wanted company I could team up with them as I used to do with a friend before I moved here Smile

Hi Charlotte

I live just a few miles from you in Chard, The Chard reservoir is a good place it has a bird hide also a feeding station for birds and squirrels.
or there is the Chard to Ilminster cycle track which is about 5 miles long.
hope this helps.

Thanks Maggie
We looked at the reservoir the other day but we had the dog with us didn't get the chance to go to the hid as you can't take dogs past certain points, we will go again dog less and have a look I really love sitting in the hides watching the birds sometimes I forget to take pics they are so interesting to watch Smile
Well I might see you there one day Smile

I'm in Taunton don't do wildlife but think they have hides at Wimbleball Lake and of course there's the Quantock Hills and all of Exmoor.

I'm not a member of the Taunton club but I think they have a waiting list - Taunton Camera club site
