Has anyone in this group and idea why, when the built in flash on the 9 is raised, it causes the camera to lock. By lowering the flash, switching off the camera, then switching it back on, the camera will then function normally.(with the flash still lowered). The camera will work without any problem when an external flashgun is fitted and used.
Is this is fault which will need professional repair work, or is there something tucked away in the manual which will explain why it happens ?
I have found the possible solution to the problem. It is possibly a fault in the flash circuitry which will need to be professionally repaired. With the flash not charging properly it locks the camera preventing the shutter button from being released. That is normal when the flash is working correctly, is it not? "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing." but when you hunt around on the web you will eventually get the answer.
