    I have a Manfrotto 494RC2 ballhead, it is compatible with my blackrapid strap. I have seen a monopod for sale with a
    Manfrotto 234RC ballhead attached but I am not sure whether this is compatible with the quick release I have attached (for convenience) to my Nikon.
    Would this monopod and ballhead work? I find the convenience of changing from strap to tripod very agreeable and I have no desire to unscrew from the tripod to attach to a monopod.

    If it is the 234rc2 then yes it will be compatible - I have the 234 and a predecessor to the 494 and interchange them easily enough.
