Has anyone got any experience of the Slik Pro 700DX?

Looks like a pretty good bit of kit, but as there are no local stockists, I need info . . .

    This is the tripod

    THis should help

Price ain't the problem, it's how good the kit is.

If price ain't the problem, why aren't you looking at better tripods and heads?

Would agree with Graeme,if you're looking for quality kit with the price not being a major issue,I'd forget the Slik tripod's and look at the Gitzo's,preferably the 3 or 5 series.
IMHO,this is a vital piece of equipment that isn't worth skimping on.

the Gitzo 1348 carbon fibre tripod and a manfrotto 393 head easily support my 1DMkII N and 600mm prime lens. The legs open to allow ground level photography so the best of all worlds. It isn't cheap but good things rarely are.

    Martin,

The Slik's an excellent value bit of kit....but it's "just a tripod" - ie it doesnt really *do* much.

If that's all you need, go for it. Otherwise have a look at some of the modular manufacturers - Manfrotto make a huge range that are nice, and Gitzo make what the trade would call the "Rolls-Royce" tripods of the market.

I'd say spend as much as you can on the tripod, and definitely consider the legs/head combination to get what suits you - its one of the few accessories that you really want to get right and keep for years!

    Manfrotto 190Pro B.
