As I gave yet another EC out to that famous mountain / stream scene I wondered if it's the most scenic view in the UK. It gave me an idea. All you landscapers, put a link to the photo in your ePHOTOzine portfolio (or upload a version here) or link to someone else's photo that you think deserves the title of the most scenic view of the UK. It doesn't have to be a good photo of that location, just one that you know has been photographed well by someone and is in your view the most scenic/ picturesque / beautiful location.
I will then collate these and have a poll to find - the most scenic view of the UK.
The view from A' Mhaighdean in the heart of the Fisherfield Forest, one of the remotest and some have said most wild and beautiful view in the UK. I personally think so as well. I doubt that it will rank in most polls somehow though. ![]()

Some places are amazingly scenic, yet hard to capture in a photograph
Wasdale is probably the most impressive scene in England - yet there's not that many awards on here for it, maybe because it's quite a tricky one to nail.. The huge cliff down the side of the lake can just look black in a photo, rather than showing the amazing rocky textures of the cliffs
Also, it's not on the way to anywhere - a massive dead end - so the number of photos from there will be far less Glen Coe, which is a main road to the west highlands.
So Wasdale gets my vote Pete
Here's a really old shot from my first visit there, that doesn't do it justice at all
Just to prove a point lol

Personally I do not think it is the most scenic BUT certainly one of the most photographed locations
Seven Sisters
Has to be the view from The Roaches in Staffordshire
Reasons: There is more than one place to stick your tripod. There isn't a birch tree smack bang where you wouldn't want it...and it's a better 'view'.

Aye and its amazing how Mother Nature managed to haphazardly assembly a number of interlocking stones to form a convenient staircase, must be worth the best view 'cos of that alone....... ![]()
Quote: well you can always go the back way through the conveniently shallow, wide, grass lined ravine.
I wouldn't know Keith, its never been a place worth visiting or photographing....
tar dar...
Sorry back to the thread now. ![]()

why would you do that Pete ? giving awards to the same shot at the same location. doing that suggests each one is better than the last and they are all good yes, but not breaking new ground or even new viewing positions.
not starting a new thread here on the old issues but it is a mystery to me.
Phil
For me, it has to be a view of the 'Cuillins' of Skye, from the summit of Sgurr-na-Stri.....even now, many years later, it
still gives me such an emotional feeling !!!!!!!!
It won't be a popular choice, because of it's remoteness....but if you ever get the opportunity to attain that summit, it's a
life enhancing experience !
See attached shot from my PF, regards...Keith.
Quote: Does it have to be in the UK or can it be anywhere in the "British" Isles? Damian
The correct name for the UK is "the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland."
