    has anyone used Corel® VideoStudio® Pro X2 Ultimate or would you recommend another package for editing the hd video from the Canon 5d mk2

    I too use Vegas - but it is the Pro version. "Platinum" is the equivalent of "Elements" for Photoshop.

    I get good results, certainly.

    I would recommend sony vegas also. It can test your patience, but at the end of the day it works and gives you the result you want. This was made with 5Dmk2 and sony vegas.

    I've looked at a couple of the reviews for the Sony vegas prompted from your replies and I've already read about the Corel software, its just that they have an offer of £20 off at the moment.

    Both softwares offer a free trial! this would be a good way to find your favourite.

    It aint the all singing all dancing version

    But i just wanted it for editing,nothing fancy and it does that.

    Try the trial version and see what ya think.
    But if your owt like me Stills only and never worked with video it seems daunting at first.

    You may find this book a useful investment if you are using Vegas.

    that Amazon feature lets you look inside the book which like any other on a particular subject is very in depth, Thanks CB
