The local council strikes again - I'm not sure if it's incredibly funny or very sad but I, like many others, enjoyed watching the ducklings......

Maybe the council just fancied a change from changing traffic light sequences to disrupt traffic flow. Sad

It is nuts isn't it? Especially as the location is right on a multiple set of traffic lights so nothing moves quickly around there.......

It is kinda funny though.... but makes me wonder why I'm admitting to being a local - it's not something I'm overly proud of!

I think this one has emigrated to Clacton! Grin Grin

Spotted this one this morning on the boating pool, on the way back from the Hospital.

That reminds me I saw a pair sitting on the lawn over the road from my house on Saturday - it would be nice if they stayed and produced some chicks Smile They're welcome to use my pond but it's a tad small!

Wildlife and bird enthusiast Keith Browning, 60, of Brooklands Park, Longlevens, said:
Quote: "Lots of people go there to visit the ducklings when they are there. It seems wrong to remove their foliage and even though it's only on a small scale, you have to consider what the impact is on the small scale and then what is happening in the rainforest."

From a couple of ducks in Cheltenham to the rainforest is a bit of a leap!

Is that the equivalent of 'Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves.'?

I think its the chaos theory.

If a duck doesn't flap it's wings down Cheltenham High Street, a tree falls in the Amazon.

The daft thing is, if the council had claimed the ducks had to be moved from the newly renovated fountain because they were damaging it, or it was costing too much to keep cleaning it up, people would have been more likely to understand and not kick up a fuss. Using the old H&S card yet again is just bound to raise hackles.

It was bound to get somebody in a flap.
