Need Advice - Canon 7D or 5D MK II

Hey all, it's been a while since posting on these forums. Hoping I can get some advice.

I currently shoot with a Canon 30D, 90% of the time I shoot Landscapes so my main lens is a 10-22mm EF-S Lens, the rest of my lenses are EF lenses.

I now have the oppurtunity to purchase a new camera body and originally had my heart set on the 5d MK II, but after reading lots of reviews, comparisons between the 7D. I have now confused myself. On paper the 7D has a lot of features the 5D doesn't, and I wouldn't need to purchase a new Wide Angle lens etc.

It just makes more sense to go for the 7D. Is there really a huge difference in image quality etc. Would the 7D be suitable for Landscape Photography?

Please can someone give me some much needed advice.

Blimey ... thought you'd long gone Bruce ... good to hear from you again.

In short - what Cole says mate [if you can afford it], the 5DMk2 is a stonking camera, particularly as you're mainly using it for landscapes.

In good condition the 10-22mm still commands a pretty decent price on auction sites, so you hopefully wouldn't lose too much against a new 17-40L. The main extra cost is likely to be the difference in price bewteen the bodies. If I had the money myself, 5DMk2 with 17-40L would be my route.

Just placed my order for the Canon 5D Mk II + EF 24-105mm L IS Kit. Once I can sell my 10-22mm EF-S Lens, I will definitely pick up a 17-40L lens. Really look forward to it. Can't wait to start posting here again. Best renew my e2 subscription

A friend of mine who I shoot with regulary has just purchased a 7D. I must admit it, it is also a fantastic camera. If my interests in photography had nothing to do with landscapes, I would be shooting with a 7D myself. If any of you are interested, here is the view from my house in Durban of the Soccer Stadium. My very first image with the 5D Cropped slightly. I can't get over the detail at 100%.
