I very dear friend of mine has a traditional print which appears to have been varnished. The varnish has been appied with a brush and provides a texture I have never seen before. I am not aware of the process used to achieve this and wandered if anyone might have come across this style of finishing before. It appears to me that this could not be an ordinary varish as it would destroy the print. Perhaps a water based varnish but I am totally in the dark. Please if there is anyone who knows of this process or who has done it for themselves could you please help me. My friend has a similar print which she would like done so it looks the same.
Many thanks for taking the time to read my request.
    Regards
    Gerry
