    Hello,

I have a Nikon FA camera which is in mint condition with a leather snap on case and various Nikkor lenses:

    1.4 Nikkor lens
    20mm 1:2.8 205866 lens
    Zoom Nikkor 35-105mm 1:35 - 45 1936357
    Zoom Nikkor 80-200mm 1:4 275369
    Nikon Speedlight SB-16
    Carrying case
    remote cable

All of these lenses are in mint condition.

Can anyone out there giive me an honest idea of what this gear is worth?

I will take a guess of £50, i'm sure others will have their opinions. Although keep it for another 100 years I am sure it will be far more valuble

    Zoom Nikkor 35-105mm 1:3.5 - 4.5 1936357

I just joined here. I don't know if everyone here is in the UK or in numerous countries around the world. Don't jerk my chain with 50 pounds m8. I know each lens alone is worth hundreds.

They are only worth what people are prepaired to pay on the day. I had mint Canon A-1 with various mint FD lenses and accessories and i only got about £70 for the lot when i sold it recently.

I think you may be overestimating the value of the lenses, but check out the link below for a company selling secondhand Nikon manual focus lenses. Remember you would get quite a bit less than this if you were selling to them, plus they are providing a guarantee as well.

So I think you will find my £50 estimate was not far off m8 Wink

I brought all the lenses, external flash and camera to a nearby camera store. First offering was $850 for everything. I'll keep looking around. Obviously the market is better over here. LOL

If they offered you that, I'd seriously consider it.

In the uk, a Nikon FA isn't the most reliable camera now, and would certainly fetch under £100. If everything is genuinely mint (ie absolutely spotless and faultless, with both caps) I'd expect the following:
    50 f/1.4.....around £100
20 f/2.8 ..... Maybe up to £160 for the right buyer
    35-105 ..... Around £60
80-200 .... Slightly more but not much, say £80
    Flash ..... £30
    The rest, nothing.

So honestly? I'd expect a total of around £500 ish, or around $800, so the shop isn't miles out.
You may get more selling privately, but have the hassle, and you might not get a buyer for all of it.

Just checking out prices, you may get slight more for the 20mm, maybe up to £220, but it doesn't change much. $850 is still ballpark, as far as I know.

I have just been GIVEN a Minolta Dynax 500Si with two lenses and a Pentax MZ-5 with two lenses as the owners could not get rid iof them -- but I gave them a 'Good Home' as they were FREE ( so the wife cannot complain that I am buying any more camera gear ! )
