Hi guys and Girls
Thought you might like to know a new Olympus camera is coming out soon it's called the OM-D, looks rather exciting for those that like smaller and faster focusing as this is said to be the fastest focusing system yet from Olympus and they state it will out focus any dslr as well, so looking interesting to see how this performs.
It's Mirror less like the pens and is micro 4/3rds like the pen but they have made a few changes for the better, firstly there's a view finder integrated into the camera, it has a 16 mp as opposed the 12 that the pens have plus higher iso range of 24,000.
Don't know the price tag yet but any one have any more details on this i would appreciate the info.

That's the link by the way to see it.
oh lol never mind here's for those that don't know on other planets as the whole world new lol
.
How much are they do you know?
Looking good, but still not optical viewfinder as I guessed it would be, this might put a few off.
Lol I had even knocked up my own impression on how one might look.

The flip up screen is good as well, there so much better than the bendy screens.
lmao Paul that was a great design you did there i just read that thread and it did make me chuckle lots
.
i am with you on the view finder though i have to admit it would be amazing if they stuck an optical view finder on this camera rather than the digital one.
Still at least its a view finder better that than none at all, i reckon this one will be a massive contender to the big boys out there, they are stating the focusing is faster than a dslr so I am watching in anticipation to see some proof of this if it is the case then i am selling my ep-3 to buy one as a serious addition to my canon 7d and 5d mark ii.
There are more and more lenses coming out too which is great news for the micro world and who has one.
Some say it's over priced at £999.00 but like the pen ep-3 that came down very quickly but even then i thought it was an ok price for what you get.
Quote: Looks pretty much like a "Bridge" camera with interchangeable lenses, rather than a proper CSC with an EVF. (Or is the distinction becoming too blurred to matter?)
A bit like the Panasonic G or GH series then ?
To me it looks more like a Pen with a viewfinder and flip up screen added.
I think Olympus were on to something with the E300 and E330 with there mirror design and probably a way they could go with a full time optical viewfinder in a CSC body, its a whole lot more compact than a prism.

Bridge camera with interchangeable lenses - sign me up
Must admit the addition of the viewfinder (electronic or optical) really makes this the selling point. I'd liked the EP series, but the fact that it was a viewfinder or flash situation made it less attractive to me as a camera (canon adaptor mount + flash + MPE 65mm + increased depth of field from smaller sensor = fun times
).
Now that they've got one with a viewfinder and flash port it really makes me want one - the addition of the grips to bulk it up a bit more are also a neat feature (esp since I'm already used to grips).
They might add a bit too much size so might not be needed in order to keep the camera system small, but overall for a compact, light and overall well featured camera it looks very well setup.
exciting times for cameras at the mo especially this one looking forward to someone using one to tell us all what there like.
All the pre launch hype is over...................just waiting now for the bit that really matters, the full on test reviews. I'm looking specifically at the E-M5 and PRO X1. If the E-M5 is as good in the field as I hope then a body upgrade from the E-P3 will be on the cards but not until summer. Like the look of the PRO X1 but I don't want to buy into a completely new system when the lens range for m43 is so good.
With thirty odd lenses already available and several new companies joining it would probably be a little fool hardy to change systems.
