My thoughts, prayers and sympathy today are with those in Christchurch, especially those who have lost loved ones. My best wishes to you all.

Yeah, I echo that. I'm sitting watching in horror and wondering about my cousin, his wife and two young kids who live in Sumner which appears to be at the epicentre.

All we have heard is that they are OK but no longer have a house. We have been unable to get in touch to find out any more but we are thankful they are alive and that we are not a family in mourning.

My thoughts are with everyone affected by this horrendous event.

We have family who are safe but without a house, a newly widowed mum with two small children who have just lost their dad.
Not sure about the prayers but thanks for those who care enough to pray.
    Feeling very helpless.

I too echo that, it makes you think with all the strange and unpredictable weather around the world who will be next to have a tragedy and I am sure our risk factor in the UK will have risen
