I am thinking of buying the above lens and was just wanting to find out others opinions on it....

looking to do more shots of the kids and also challenge myself to do more with a fixed lens.

    all advice opinions gratefully accepted

    Hi, macspot.
I recently acquired a Nikon 50mm 1.8 prime lens from an eBay seller.
I had resevations about buying this way. [I'm relatively new to eBay purchase, as well as to photography]
However, it's been a spendid buy. I use it a lot & love using it.
It's precise: it's clear & so easy to use.

Go for it. You'll prob love it too. Smile

    Super lens

Great lens, check around for best price. I bought one about a year ago from an eBay shop in HongKong, £50 + £25 p&p. Right now I'm waiting for a Nikkor 70-300mm from another eBay shop in HongKong. This one is £79.99 post free. I'm hoping it's as good as the other one I bought.

I've got a Nikkor 50 mm f/1.8: it's cheap, it's easy to use and I really love it.

I've got the Canon version. It's my favourite lens EVAAH.

I stuck my Planar 50mm / f1.7 on my 139Q this afternoon for session trudging around my favourite site.

It was almost as if the sun had come out.

    Well,......almost! Smile

For price/performance there's nothing to touch it.
