I recently aquired some settings for ACR (Adobe Camera RAW) calibrated to the D2H but I thought I would try it with my own D70s.
Granted its not the same sensor but I thought Id try it anyway.
I decided Id post the settings on here for anyone struggling to gain decent results from their RAW files.
Once the settings are in place you can save as a preset but note you will have to modify exposure and white balance as this can differ from shot to shot.
Adjust Tab
Shadows: 11
Brightness: 50
Contrast: +57
Saturation: +30
Detail Tab
Sharpness: 47 (you can adjust this anywhere you like, but I have been using other sharpening methods in post if this doesn't get it sharp enough for large prints
Luminance Smoothing: 0
Color Noise Reduction: 25 (This setting is key to Taming the Amount of color in the noise/grain of the D70s higher ISO shots, which I explain more on later)
Lens Tab
Nada... ZERO on all
Calibrate
Shadow Tint: 0
Red Hue: +26
Red Saturation: -38
Green Hue: +41
Green Saturation: 0
Blue Hue: -9
Blue Saturation: +22
Im sure you will find these settings invaluable to achieving great RAW results
Gav
Thanks to Scott Jua for taking the time to produce these settings.
As long as you remember that these settings are a start point only. For your important shots there is nothing like fine tuning by hand.
Ian
Thanks for posting that and sharing...
Just for reference here's a link for my original post on the Fred Miranda site forums:
my thread on FredMiranda boards
I have posted in in various places (rob galbraith, nikonians, etc.) and some have other discussion and follow ups.
However, as soon as our wedding schedule calms down and I get caught up on wedding work and have some free time (early 07 possibly), I intend to update my settings and findings and will post that here as well. These settings above and in the thread I pasted a link to should be a decent starting point, as I have modified them over time, and will do again soon since I have found that the same settings can use a little tweaking if you shoot with a D2HS and a D2H. The two cameras seem to capture color information slightly differently and to my eye I can see it at times.
Hope this helps everyone in some small way. ^_^
