    True - but can anybody seriously afford £20 (a top quality clear or "steam age" UV" costs more) to "protect" against something that rarely happens to a lens.
    This lens is likely to cost more to repair than replace but many lens costs less than 20% of the lens price to have a new front element fitted.

    As I said Len, about £1.50 gets you the same level of protection.
