Nikon D5100 grip?

30 Apr 2012 6:24PM
I can't seem to find a Nikon grip for the D5100 made by Nikon only by independents. Any D5100 owners out there who have purchased such a grip? I would really appreciate your views on which you think is the best grip for the D5100

Hi Madhatter58
Did you have any luck with a purchase of a grip?
I am also looking to get one for my D5100

Cheers

Steve
There is no Nikon made grip for the D5100 or the D3100 or even the D3200. You have to rely on aftermarket grips for these models. Nikon never planned on making a grip for them, as the electrical contacts needed to interface between the grip and the camera are not present on the bodies of these cameras. I just ordered an aftermarket grip from Amazon today for my D3100 and will hopefully get it byMonday 9-17-12 ...
