I'm off up to the Whitby area in a few weeks and hoping to get to the NYMR - any advice on where to head for? I don't think the service will be running but I have hopes that the maintenance sheds will be a hive of activity.

I'ts ages since I've been to Whitby as well, so any tips for there would be good too.

I'll probably be able to spend a full day at both venues

    Cheers folks

    Alan

    Alan,

All the info you need is online - NYMR .

The loco sheds are at Grosmont and according to the website are open to the public.

For your sake I hope the few weeks isn't Easter weekend - did that once by accident, never again!

No not Easter Katy - I tend not to venture out too far on most bank holidays. I too have ended up sat in the car for hours just to turn round and go home !!!!

Thanks Paul - I had been on the site but missed the reference to the sheds. (Scan reading of web pages not what it should be)

Just be aware that the new sheds at Pickering will be taking some of the work and Grosmont may not be as busy as a result.

Thanks Keith - I'll try both I think
