LOL - you'd spend all the shoot time fiddeling with your flappy mirrors. Actually impressed even if i can't see what to use it for.

there are videos on it... though looks a bit pointless really...

if you're off camera flashing, then it's completely useless

1 off camera flash, placed bottom right in between boulder.

(my typical flash set up to get awesome detailing)

1 off camera flash, held camera left, pointing direct at the model.
I didn't use any modifier, or anything to soften the light, I wanted
a very direct; harsh flash to capture the dresses movement in the image.
It came out a lot softer, but I felt it worked, quite painterly, if anything.

2 off camera flashes, one to create that little shine on the backdrop,
and one placed on a stand camera left, pointing direct at the model.

For this type of lighting, I made a snoot out of a cereal box, to create
that direct, harsh lighting. I didn't want much fall off light, so I felt this
technique worked very nicely. I used my typical flash settings for this.

And slaved it, I used a -1 stop on my slaved flash unit.

I only use speedlites, I am investing in strobes very shortly.

This is my last photograph I am uploading! sorry, If I am drastically boring you all to tears here.
For this I used a beauty dish, and a 200/200 Bowens Strobe through the beauty dish. I placed the dish very high, as I wanted to capture the detailing in the hair, but not too much. I had the power very low, as my home studio isn't very big, and it's very much white, so it's very difficult to control the lighting as to what I'd like to control it as.

I was going to use a reflector, to bounce the flash upwards.. but at the same time, I didn't want it to be one of those beauty shot's, I wanted it to be a little different, as it is, well different. I think If I was to bounce the light back up, it would of created a much more commercial image, and yes that is great. But, I'm weird, I'm obsessed with tones and shadows. So I felt to keep it simple, and keep the shadows from the beauty dish there.

If you want to see anymore images I have taken with off camera lighting, just ask, and I'll upload more! I have too many photographs.

    Thanks,

    Ryan Grin
