Quote: but why do a lot of them have to descend into petty sqaubbles and name calling?

Didn't hang around long enough to find out! ;o(

It's true there are some squabbles from time to time as well as numerous toys being flung from prams, not to mention the flouncing, BUT let's remember that a lot of the threads are actually very helpful to people, some threads have really interesting discussions and other threads are just hilarious. Canon vs Badger, Derek Pye, etc. Have to agree with Conrad - there's some really funny stuff on here!

it's usually 'new' moderators that get heavy handed, the feeling of power and authority goes to their head, they usually calm down after a while.

You mean they moderate their tone after a while? Smile

Hmmm... I doubt that. It takes time to strike a right balance when you are a new mod. There is no "rule book".

I don't really think if it's anything to do with being power crazed.

Glad to see that you're aiming high Mr Turtle-wax. To find fault with perfection is an ideal starting point.
