I own an older Fujifilm camera... Think it's an S2000. Can't tell now since I'm not home.
Anyhow, when I try to take video it only takes about 10 seconds and then stops. Any idea why
this might be or how I can fix it/have it fixed? it used to take about 7 minutes of video at a time.

Have you changed the memory card recently? I think the s2000 takes SD cards. You will need a card of I think class 6 or higher.

If the card has too low a rating then the buffer on the camera fills up quicker than the data can be written to the card and this will cause the recording process to end.

As Eddie says, it could be the memory card. The same thing happened to an old Kodak camera that I used to own.

Do you have, or can you borrow another card and see how that performs?

As for the rating, I'm not at all convinced that it makes a scrap of difference. The numbers applied to memory cards are applied by their manufacturers and unless something's changed which I know nothing about, they can grade them with any number they like.
There's no "official" test or standard which they need to achieve (or otherwise) to get a seemingly high rating.
There was a thread on here a while ago on the subject of memory card ratings. None of us could see where one was a better performer than another based on the number.

    Jester.

Thanks. it used to work but maybe the SD card got stuffed up. Will attempt testing.

Quote: try formatting the card in the camera.

You could do that and it might make it work again but if it turns out that the card is the culprit, personally, I'd bin it.

SD cards are so cheap nowadays and as I said earlier, it's debatable that the dearer ones are any better than the ones you get from Argos, you might just as well replace it.

Thanks. your advice helped. Formatting with the camera was the answer. I have a new issue I will post on a new topic.
