Ooops!

The morning referees said it's one stone four birds, I have spectators along the athletes, the names (and other data) and the Olympic flame. It is verified as an Olympic record! Gooooold!

I am expecting more pictures to arrive, so please stay with us and support this topic with your comments and your pictures. Thank you.

This is the nearest I could get to the Olympics. It is a record shot of the Tyne Bridge with the 5 rings attached. Newcastle hosted some soccer matches last week6-bridges.jpg

Enjoying the Moment. The Torch passes through Stockssfield, a large village in the Tyne Valley. It was difficult to get a clear shot because of the crowds lining the route.man-of-the-moment.jpg

Great shots. I couldn't even cycle round to the shops let alone get around this track for a hour and half. A real tough sport.

A great day out at the Men's Mountain biking event, only slightly spoiled by the fact I could not buy one of the snazzy purchase at event only t-shirts because they only had fat bloke sizes left.

Here is the winner of this event Jaroslav Kulhavy.

I've read great stories for athletes competing in these Olympics this year, the Polish lady Zofia Noceti-Klepacja who will auction her bronze medal to raise money needed to operate a young girl, her next door neighbour, the American runner Bryson Nellum shot in the legs who had been shot to the legs, and the other male runner from South Sudan Guor Marial, the American lady Christine Armstrong who returned to cycling after becoming a mother at 36, the American beach-volleyballer Jake Gibb who fought cancer, from people like South African Oscar Pistorius, Kelly Smith the female British footballer who got free from alcoholism . Not all of them got medals but they proved good heart and strong will. As Pierre De Coubertin had said, it is not the winning that matters. The truth is you can't have winners if you can't have losers. Olympics bring people together to compete, bring world together to watch and be inspired. Unfortunately the Olympic truce, has not been revived despite attempts from the country which born the Olympics for all wars.combats to stop while the Olympic Games are practiced. We don't owe peace to Greece, but we owe some respect for their contribution to the world. May we all be well and cheerful to watch the Olympic Games in Rio and many more.
