    To answer several at once:

Quote: Ashley, do you expect to receive value for money for everything the government spend our money on?

No, but it would be nice to receive value for money on something the government had spent my money on!

Quote: We here at olympic HQ had a massive contract we wanted you to fill...but still if you don't want it...

As it happens, I don't. I'm too busy at this time, contact me in a couple of months.

Quote: Did somebody just say that cricket was sport...play for five days and it finishes in a draw - THAT CAN'T BE RIGHT!

Well, at least you get more runs than watching a football match for 90 minutes and there's no score at all.

Quote: Try explaining it to me

Okay, [DEEP BREATH] you have two teams, one is in the other is out. The team that is out tries to get the team that is in, out. The team that is in doesn't want to get out and so tries to stay in. If the team that is out gets the team that is in, out then the team that was in is now the team that is out and the team that was out is now the team that is in.

[DEEP BREATH] Now, the team that was in and is now out has to try and get the team that was out and is now in, out...

    Clear now?

    :oD

    you don't use the roads?
    didn't go to school/college/university?
don't enjoy the protection policing gives you?
    don't enjoy local parks/national parks?
    never needed your local gp/hospital?

Well, if you want me to be honest, Declan then:

1/ Roads. Have you seen how bad they are round my way? The drains are blocked and regularly flood the road and the grass verges get so overgrown at times that they actually become a danger because you can't see a car coming round the bend.

2/ School/college/university. Never went to college or uni (mind you I am hired by many university research departments - I'll give you that one). As for schools of course I went to school - occasionally - but eventually they came to an agreement with my parents that if I didn't go in any more they wouldn't chase my parents over my non-attendence.

3/ Policing. We have a "part time" police force here in Lewes - despite the fact we're the county town of Sussex. The station closes at about 6pm and I haven't seen a policeman on the beat for many a year. Last time I contact the police was to tell them that one of their officers had been knocked of his motorbike - they didn't seem overly concerned.

4/ Haven't been to the park in years and the one I pass every day is strewn with litter - mind you it's not surprising they've provided one litter bin for an area that can hold a couple of hundred kids.

5/ GP/Hospital. Last time I went to my GP was about five years ago - for a health insurance policy check-up. As for hospitals haven't been in one for about 10 years.

I have just thought of how Ashley can help us in the Olympics as well as satisfy his own need to trash everything ...

He can moan for the UK!

    hehe

Actually, I grew up in London - Tooting to be precise - and only moved to Lewes when I was 20.
