Hello, I'm currently at an Olympus OM-D E-M5 press event - if you have any questions or would like anything specific tested on the camera - let me know!

Will there be a lower spec cheaper model in the future and any news on the rumoured new 4thirds E-50 body?

    Have a good day

Olympus are unable to comment on future products :/ But one would expect the PEN range of cameras to be refreshed yearly, as they have been over the last few years, maybe it will be the Olympus PEN E-P5, E-PL5 and E-PM2 later this year to match the name of the OM-D, the E-M5! (Maybe that's the mystery of the OM-D name answered...)

Sample photos from the OM-D E-M5 can be found here:

Ask them if the video IS is done using the in-body moving sensor. I think Sony have abandoned this in the A65/77 because of heat build up.

Yes it does - the effect is impressive!

I see on Facebook that Damien McGillicuddy is tempted to throw away all his heavy dSLRs and adopt this camera instead.

    Wonder if he will?

Oh those ever so heavy DSLRs.

Has anyone really picked up a DSLR and thought - "Christ thats heavy!"

Even with the 1Ds the thought certainly never crossed my mind. I know of plenty of photographers who like their cameras to have some 'weight' to them.

    Yes!

It's not the DSLR - it's the lenses. They're massively heavier than smaller format lenses.
