Nice one, and particularly nice in mono. Like it a lot.

Thankyou Anne. I took this in as jpeg, converted to B&W in NIK Colour Efex Pro 4.0, and brought out the detail with Detail Extractor.

I really like NIK software. Have Colour Efex Pro 4.0, but for mono conversions especially like their Silver Efex Pro 2.

    Quote: 35-100 ... rumours of $1600

That would be comparable to my Canon 70-200 L IS f/2.8 then I hope, and cheaper than the Canon's £1,855 retail

These will be good if the rumours become reality Smile

But I would really like to see a 35-100 f2 in M4/3 fit.

I've had the chance to look over some of my shots with the sigma 180 f5.6 APO macro with iris pre-set to f8 using my old canon 500. See what you think of these:

Same here - 2nd and 4th are the best, with 2nd (marigold?) being superb!

The second is an awesome shot Brian. The butterfly is also a nice sharp image. I have one here I took with the Panny 100-300mm. Is it the same species?

I have taken the plunge and ordered the OMD-5 with 12-50 kit lens, should be here in the morning. Now I will need to get a 4/3 adapter

thanks for your comments, yes that's a French Marigold (callendula) in 2.
It appears to be the same species Denny, didn't know they were common to both continents
Barry, welcome to the "club" Smile re: the adapter, unless its for an 4/3rds - m4/3rds I don't think it matters to much which adapter you get. If I was starting out now I would have saved money and not got the Kipon with its separate iris control as it doesn't really work with the EOS lenses

I'm not sure that the sigma 180 is giving any better results than the kit 12-50 in macro mode, but it does give a bit more distance and isn't a bad medium telephoto either (360mm equivalent - is that really "Medium" - hmm? )
