The price doesn't seem to have come down at all.

I think demand is still outstripping supply, same with the better lenses (although the Oy 45f1.8 seems a bit cheaper, well a lot cheaper if you buy the body at the moment Wink )

I think the price is a bargain, and the essential lenses are also. The menu, as Brian says, is not really a part of your in-the-field shooting routine. At home you take the time to set it up, and in the field it is no different than any other slr to use.

Its only been out about six months, far too early for a price drop Smile

Depends where you get it, I found Amazon were about the cheapest, but it went out of stock when I wanted mine and I had to pay the full wack.

What really anoyed me was the message saying new stocks will take about 3 months when the lens ended up being out of stock for three says Smile

A least I did well out of the grip, part paid 60 quid for mine along with a legacy lens I no longer needed Smile

I saw the "free" lens offer from the advert, which is tempting. But don't know what the price is via their recommended stockists.
It's even supported by ACR 6.7 using Element 10. Bugger. But the price is still the sticking point for me at the moment. Oh, and the shedload of Canon gear I've already got. Sad

(This is like deja vu. I went through all this when the X10 came out, then never bought it. But the Olympus is better ...).

The 45mm full retail price is about £279, shop around and the price drops to around £230.

I have both, even now a year later the x10 will take a lot to beat and its now a couple of 100 quid cheaper Smile

When you take into account the fact that you get the 45 1.8 thrown in I would say the price has come down considerably. Or if you don't mind buying grey imports, have a look here.

I've still got a shedload of Canon gear, but I've never regretted buying the Olympus. Smile

It might be a good offer, but that`s all it is an offer Smile

When I got my E3 the price was 799 for body only, this included a good selection of free gifts, some costing almost as much as the camera body.

I picked the FL50r as my free gift, a month later the camera price shot up to around £1150 for body only and with no free gift Smile

I do like the Oly 40-150, it looks and feels like a cheap plastic toy but it is remarkably sharp at 150mm with f8 and the lightness is a real bonus when tromping about on the beach or in the woods.
Another from today, full size you can see the cleats on the soles of her boots (as per the crop, scaled up by about 60% to show the detail here)
