................... hey, just a minute, how did you know?

You have PM, Josh.
My goodness, some reviewers are actually comparing the OM-D with the Canon 5D Mk III (yes, the latest version) and the Nikon D800 !!
Not long ago nobody would have even bothered trying to compare a camera with a 4/3 sensor with full-frame DSLRs. From this article:
Quote: "The main issues that really kill image resolution are AF accuracy, camera shake and optical quality, and it is on the 1st 2 of these issues that the Olympus E-M5 has significant advantages over the full frame dSLRs whilst at least being comparable and at times better wide open on optical quality given their lenses don’t need to cover such a large sensor.
The biggest problem in not getting the photo at all is not having the camera with you – and with this issue, small size counts for a lot – and it is here again that the Olympus wins hands down.
For most of us, the Olympus E-M5 will address our needs very nicely indeed and save us a LOT of money and bulk."
Of course you never know how independent these random reviews are. We really do need to see a proper EPZ review soon!
From noise comparisons, it appears to beat the latest G3/GX1 at high ISOs up to ISO12800, it appears to equal the 5N at ISO6400, it beats the NX200 at these ISOs, and it's only at ISO12800 that the 5N has a slight edge!
It also has more detail at lower ISOs than the 5N/GX1/NX200!
Plus the m43 cameras have better corner sharpness with less CA.
Yes, but how well does it do against crop and FF DSLRs, not just other mirrorless? Very well indeed according to some!

Lol well in the last few weeks I`ve worked so many hours I don`t even notice what day of the week it is so I can forgive you Josh
So, Josh - when do you think you'll get a production model on which to conduct a full review? Would be great if you could beat DPR to it!
Still waiting to get one in unfortunately, seems press samples are fairly limited at the moment :/
Quote: I see on Facebook that Damien McGillicuddy is tempted to throw away all his heavy dSLRs and adopt this camera instead.
Wonder if he will?
wouldn't say it if I didn't think it ;0)
Good to see you on here, Damian.
As well as thinking it, will you actually make the switch - or is there anything holding you back?
I think Damian`s been around for a while CB
