A pal is swapping me his pc fully loaded with CS5 and bridge, for a of bit of my time decorating a room ( he is getting a new computer )
Which is fine, my concern is, will my Olympus E510 raw files be accepted, or will I have to obtain a plug in or use the DNG method.
Will be another year before I can get my hands on a new Canon 7d, so the Olly will have to soldier on for a while.

    Thanks dave g

Have you checked the Adobe website because that usually shows the cameras supported by the programme.

Good thinking mikeh will do so now

I'm 99% sure the evolt- and E- names are for the same thing. My E510 makes .ORF files if that's any use. I'd be really surprised if they weren't covered at this stage..

Make sure you have the latest version of the Adobe Camera Raw plugin and you should be OK. Smile

Thats right 'Tooth' .ORF files are used and processed with the basic software that came with the camera many moons ago.
And thank you too 'Carabosse' I will soon find out, and look forward to a steep learning curve as I grapple with the wonders of cs5 for the first time !

Hope your friend isn't planning on installing the same CS5 on to his new computer. Adobe are getting pretty cute at detecting and preventing piracy! Theoretically, he would have to deregister it on his old computer before he could re-instal it on a new one. I think there may be a bit of leeway, but he needs to check. Otherwise it could be a pretty expensive bit of redecoration.

My ORF files show up just fine in CS5, and in Lightroom. I've got both the E-510 and the E-620.

thanks for the last 2 comments, which we will discuss and act on as required
    cheers
