This month we have good news for all who work weekends and get paid enhanced rates.

The reason being, we have 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays, so you will be on extra pay. This allegedly occurs once every 823 years, so enjoy your next payday.

This has been circulating recently. It concerns July, not this month.
And as for the "once every 823 years", what a load of old codswollop!
Next time the 1st July lands on a Sunday, as this year, then the same 5 weekends will occur...Wink

Yes Malc, always best to check first before posting!

    Good old 'Snopes'.

Also as I'm self employed I don't get extra for weekends or bank holidays anyway.

    Sorry, wrong again!

July has only 4 Saturdays. Tongue

It happens whenever the 1st falls on a Saturday (2nd if 31 day month).

    Is this another 'test'? Grin

After much complex and involved research taking all of 5 minutes I have discovered from my Windoze Calendar, that 5 Saturdays and Sundays in one month occur as follows:-Grin

    2012:-
    September, December.
    2013:-
    March, June,
    2014:-
    March, August, November.

Makes one wonder who dreams up these cockamamie theories and why.
