Someone has asked me to do a portrait sitting for an opera singer. I have access to a studio and a location with lots of history.
The person is around 50 and female.
Does anyone have any advice with lighting, poses or idea for example? I'm a little stumped with ideas to get something different.

If you haven't already done this, my message is:
I've done this before and the essential thing to remember is that they are old, and you need to make the photo flattering. So, maybe shine a lamp near her face, to light it up, and then maybe stand on a chair, or kneel, to make yourself on a higher level to not show the wrinkles.
Sorry if you have already done this, but it could be helpful in the future!

Blimey, old and wrinkly at 50!!! Sorry, no advice to give on portraits as I'm not a portrait photographer, just had to comment on the age thing
There are a lot of women who look amazing at that age and older.
you could not go far wrong in looking through epz portrait gallerys and see what works for you and what stands out, do a search on opera singers in google images to see what types of backdrops stand out
