    Hi,

For some reason I get the following message after exiting Outlook Express.

    OUTLOOK EXPRESS
To free up disk space,Outlook Express can compact messages. This may take up to a few minutes.

Any idea how I can stop this message from appearing each time.

    Thanks,

    Justin.

    Hi Justin

As usual with microsoft the best thing is to just let it do it or it will hound you till you do.

    Same thing happens to me.

    Pete.

    Hi Pete,

Thanks for your help but I'm determined not to give in
    Smile.
I'm sure there must be a simple way of stopping the message from appearing,if only I could find it.

    Anyone else any ideas??

    Justin.

    File>Folder>Compact all folders

should do it! It's giving in, though!

    Cheers, Mark.

Just let Outlook Express compact the folders. There is no harm in it. It doesn't take long and gives you some more disk space. It will ask occasionally if you don't compact them yourselves.

    Thanks Mark and Meredith,

I was a little reluctant to do that (prior to your advice) as I wasn't sure whether it should or shouldn't be done.
I'll do as you suggest and compact them.

    Thanks for your help.

    Justin.
