I have been printing some A3 images today and the printer has started to leave a pale band, around 5 mm wide and approximately 20mm in from the trailing edge of each print. It is only obvious on evenly toned areas showing something like sky or calm water. Anyone any suggestions for what might be causing this and how it can be fixed?

try cleaning heads wat printer how old
It's a canon S9000 and is about 4 yrs old but not used much.
Agree with Rob, head probably needs cleaning.
I have the same printer but not this problem - I try to use it on a fairly regular basis and if it sits for a while (eg when I'm away on holiday) I'll do a couple of prints on cheap paper when I return just to flush out the head.
This seems to work.
I get coloured bands when the head needs cleaned. This is pale banding, more like not enough ink has been applied.
