As I said the LX5 is a great camera also so if it tickles your fancy go get it. I was swayed by the S90 and memory card delivered to my hand for under 180. I bet I would be just as happy with the LX5.

Have had a Canon G6, a G9 and a Panasonic LX3. G series nice but large. LX3 problems downloading pictures, you need a special cable to fit the socket to download straight from the camera, and the detachable cap is fiddly. Now got an S95 and its a joy to use. I always based my decisions on image quality rather than ergonomics, but this baby has it all.

Hi Kruger, it should have said P7000, but $1000 for a D7000 is Amazing,, any idea's of how much a G12 or a Panasonic Lumix LX5 wasgoing for? I will be in St Marrteen on New Years Eve with money burning a hole in my pocket,, any ruff prices would be great,, cheers

back from my trip and i bought the Canon G12 for $475, which is about 310, got a free case amd a 4GB card,, if anyone if going to St Marteen, take some money, the cameras are CHEAP. didnt even look at the LX5, because no one on the island sold it, have to say i am rearly rearly impresed with the G12, only took about 100 shots with my D80, but took about 1000 with the G12, and they look brill "did some videoing as well", which looks great to
