Thanks for those wise words. I am aware that people will have their favourite camera/s and all advice is taken into consideration.
As I said before, my Nikon D5000 takes stunning pics especially when fitted with the Nikkor 16-85. It is though not the easiest of cameras to navigate round the menu and most settings do not have short cuts.
However, both the lens and body weigh a considerable ammount as against the P-Kr and of course, the Kr is smaller. Since my last post, I had the use of a Kr from a friend for a few days fitted with a Tamron 17-50 F/2.8 zoom lens. It was the latest Tamron but without IS. My pal said it out performed the DAL 18-55 which is why he bought it. Pictures were razor sharp and very good definition. I'm very impressed with how easy the Pentax menu is to navigate and set up customised settings.
My only concern is, if I move over from a Nikon D5000 to a Pentax Kr, I will not be gaining any more definition as they are both 12mp cameras.
