Is it me or do the cometitions on here seem to be more of an image competition now?
Just want to know other peoples opinions. It seems that some are too manipulated and they become images rather than a photograph.

Only seems like that this time - was completely the other way around last time (White December). No manipulation then.

Sorry but by inference you are casting doubts on the images that lifted the prizes.

Think of it this way. Does the final photo look to you to be one that required, vision, skill, imagination. If so it is worthy of praise.

"So you're saying Pete picked the wrong guest judge?"

Not if you are in manipulated stuff? Wink The judge obviously is. I bet he's the sort that would ask here how to add a frame and a signature! Wink I would think that anyone that put an "ordinary" photo in, would be disappointed. And no! I didn't enter, only went to look after I saw this thread.

We get criticised if I judge the competition, we get criticised if I don't. One day happiness will fall upon ePHOTOzine's forums and there will be nothing to moan about...now where's that wishing pool!

Cool ya jets Pete - I was only joking.
I even put a little winky face on it.

I think that what's being said is a little bit unfair. Surely if there is a category for digitally manipulated images in the gallery, then we should be able to submit them as competition entries.

I'm absolutely chuffed at getting third place, it's the first time I've won anything, but I must admit to being a bit crestfallen after reading the inference that I maybe shouldn't have entered at all.
