    Hello all,

I was just wondering if there are any members in the Perthshire area of Scotland who would be interested in getting together for days out photographing. I am on my vacation time from work and have 3 months of free time to get some nice snaps in. I live near to Blairgowrie but am willing to travel a little.

If you are interested please drop me a line through the forum.

    Hi,

Could be, but I'd probably be restricted to weekends. Also need to know what level of fitness you have in mind, as I'm way out of condition for anything strenuous!

    Hey Dorothy,

Weekends are fine. As for fitness, I am not in shape either. No climbing Ben Nevis!! I was thinking of walks around places like Pitlochry, Perth, Villages, lochs and maybe a day out in Edinburgh or Glassgow (maybe). I find that my photography improves when in company of fellow photog's. I am quite flexible with regards to time and date.

I like your portfolio. Image like that are what I like to achieve!

I could be up for a day out provided it's not too far travelling from renfrewshire.

    Thanks... Smile

Level walks sounds good to me. Where a bouts are you Dorothy and where are you willing to travel to? Adrian, I think is just south of Glassgow, I am in between Pitlochry and Blairgowrie.

I like most types of photography, landscape, cityscape, Architecture. Any ideas for a first meet? I love it when a plan comes together!

Also I forgot to mention that I am not familiar with all of Scotland. I am only here 4 months a year. So very open to suggestion of beauty sites.

I'm in Fife, so your suggested locations are not a problem. Like simlar stuff to you, James, and would like to try more architecture and cityscapes, with the moral support of fellow photographers around...Smile
Were you considering going to ‘a place’ and exploring on foot? Or do you want to pick a few possible spots and drive to different places and spend a wee while at each?
Adrian, how far is 'too far'?

If we are in a big city like Edingburgh or Glassgow then I suggest exploring on foot as I'd need to take the MegaBus to get there. If it's Dundee or perth or that area then we could do either. If in Dundee we could always move onto a fishing village or similar. Just an idea.

Cityscapes sounds fun, although at another meet maybe you could share some tips on Landscapes. I like your site!

Don't really want to travel more than 1 - 1+1/2 hours, by car, but Fife would be OK. ( I'll bring a lang spoon!). If it's Edinbugger or Glasgow I'll use the train. Could also make Stirling, or at a push Perth, by rail as well.

So - does Edin sound like the most central? (nae lang spoon needed Wink) I'd also get the bus over.
Has anyone else chimed in or is it just us at the moment?
For the record, I'm booked the next two weekends, and I generally need notice for Sundays... just in case it influences anything....
I'm on leave 1st 2 weeks in August and might be able to manage a day in the first week....if the family doesn't change that plan... ! my photo plans generally take 2nd place to them...

I'm also busy the next 2 weekends & also Aug 20/21st..
Now working part time so I can normally make Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon.

One possibilty I've just seen when checking my diary; there's an Orchid fair on at Scone Palace near Perth on w/e Aug 13/14th. That would cover "flowers", "architecture", & possibly "landscape".
The only drawback is that it costs £5.50 to get into the grounds.

As far as I'm concerned, the more the merrier. I don't think we have any definate plans as yet, just kicking round some ideas so fire out any suggestions you may have.

As the dreaded yanks say "run it up the flagpole & see who salutes". ( Posted that just to annoy some of the regulars Wink )

Any of the suggestions that have been “run up the flagpole” so far are good. Timing is my problem so quite happy to go along with anything that may be arranged and if I can join you all, I will. Nothing wrong with baiting some of the regulars for a bit of fun. Grin
