For contemporary photography try Source Magazine
For photographic art and practice try AG Magazine
For very original work and up and coming photography I love SeeSaw Magazine online

For adverts and p*ss poor reviews try AP (My personal opinion)

Looks like Dave (deviant) has the same thought as me. Ag has lots of meat but you pay for it.

I like Photography Monthly and Digital Camera Magazine most of the time. Though I've bought most of the others at some point.

There was another thread last week, and I worked out that there were about 12 photo mags in the UK. But reading this thread, I'd forgotten about Black & White Photography, The British Journal Of Photography, and Outdoor Photography.

Amazing that the market can sustain so many mags.

What a useful thread. As an advertiser in photographic magazines (Practical Photography and Outdoor Photography) this has been good feedback. I certainly get good results from OP but I've never been too sure about PP (EMAP). I suppose I advertise in PP because it has the largest circulation.

I did advertise in Digital Photo magazine (also EMAP) but I decided not to continue as I didn't feel that the reader profile was correct.

AP have been chasing me to advertise with them - I might just give them a go.

BTW I have been advertising here on EPZ for almost 2 years and I know that I get a lot of hits on my website through this site.

I git the digital bug from Digital Photo and its excellent tutorials. They seem to be going round a bit though now, so I have probably outgrown that and won't renew my subsciption.

I also subscribe to Photography Monthly, and that is OK. Bought a copy of Practical Photography last week and I think I will give it a year. Haven't found Outdoor Photography yet so will give that a try too.

Sorry Keith, I don't think I have seen your ads anywhere!

But I assume the most important point is how many of these "hits" translate into confirmed bookings.

It is indeed JJGEE, but it is also important to know where your sales leads come from.
