I currently have the Photoshop Limited Edition software and have been reading Pete's article in the software reviews section of Photoshop Elements 2. He says that if you have LE or Elements 1, Elements 2 is "hardly going to set your trousers on fire" (hee hee). Does anyone know the main differences between LE and PSE2 and would it be worth me investing in it?

Ah so there is someone out there. Thanks Margaret I was feeling a bit lonely in here!!

I'd answer but I haven't the faintest idea, I have Elements 2 (plus PSP8 and PS 8 as well) but I've never used LE so I can't help - sorry.

Actually, I have a spare copy of Elements 2 that came with the scanner if you want it

If LE is 5.5 LE then I believe it lacks adjustment layers?

Elements has these, which can be invaluable, but I think it doesn't have Curves (Elements v.1 didn't). So, its swings and roundabouts really!

Thanks Frank and Tim for your answers - I guess not many people have LE so its hard to advise.
Frank - i'll email you about that copy of PSE2.

    Many thanks.

    Mari -
Elements has a few more bells and whistles and is written to be more 'user friendly'for beginners to Photosop. LE feels and looks more like Photoshop (4 or 5ish). They both accomplish pretty much the same and both have limitations compared with the full version. If you want the latest gizmos - go for Elements 2.

Thanks for the advice Peter. A very kind person is sending me his spare copy and so I shall have fun letting you all see the results.
