would that not be the same as 'merge layers'?

just had a look,,,, you could use flatten image..... i guess the idea is that now you have finished making your image you want to make all the layers 'one image' and merge them together? Smile

Theres a " Group " layers option in Photoshop, Thats under the " Layers tab.....!

    Shortcut is " Control + G " ......!!

Assuming that is similar to Elements, You might find it there, Or it might respond to the shortcut above....!!!

What should happen when you group the layers, Is that you get a small folder icon appear just above the layers grouped, By default its called " Group 1 " by double clicking on the name Group 1, You can then give it a name of your choosing, If you don't custom name the group then the next group will be by default " Group 2 " and so on.....Smile

I don't use the group option much, But I guess it could be right handy when working with large numbers of layers.....Grin

Hope thats what your looking for.

    LOL.....Grin

There is more and more guff the deeper you dig, But the real question is how much of it as actually useful in a day to day photo tweaking......?

It may be wonderful if your creating a masterpiece composite, That involved a dozen images, Or bits of each to complete just one image.

But if all you wanna do is adjust the levels, Tweak a curve, Alter the saturation, Add a little sharpening, To a perfectly well exposed/composed photograph......Smile

I can't help wondering if its all going a bit " Over The Top " these days.....!!!

That said the old " Layers " thing is the key to composite images, I find them invaluable for creating covers for CD & DVD albums, Or creating advertising flyers etc etc, Because apart from the flexibility when your actually working, So long as you save them as " PSDs " you can always go back and change any single component within the composite.....Grin

Quite handy when you realise you have spelled a customers business name wrong, Or mad a typo.....Sad

I guess the real beauty of softwares like PS Elements & Photoshop, Is that there is something for everyone from a simple photo tweak to a full on composite creation.....Smile

If there was one tip that applies to most things post production wise, Its " Less Is Often More " .....Go carefully with those sliders out there....Wink

    Hey People How are we?

In elements 9 ctrl + g is something totally different i know what your saying and that's what the tutorial told me to do however i cant Sad

Am i allowed to post the link to the tutorial on here and someone take a look for me to see if there is a workaround for this? maybe im missing something hehe Smile

    Thanks

    Adam
