    Hi all,
I use only film as i find digital a shade baffling but still wish to upload pics onto the readers gallery. When i get my films processed ,i usually get an image cd aswell.Does photoshop elements do all the basic things needed (cropping, resizing etc)to post pics on the web.I have been using paint shop pro which was on my computer when i bought it but it expires soon so i thought if elements had all the same functions , i would buy that. Also is it easy to use for total beginners like me.Thank you all for your time and kind comments on my pics so far and look forward to posting more soon
    Steve

Hi Steve. Welcome to the site. I dont have Elements, but as far as I can tell, youshould be able to do most things the full version of Photoshop can do, but only some minor differences. It should serve you well for what you described. If anyone else can add to this, feel free.

elements is the same as other photoshops but with the tech stuff all lumped together and called stuff that means more to the novice

it is more intuitive to use for those not too clued up
and the help section is good too

It has been said that Elements gives 90% of the functionality of "full" Photoshop at 15% of the price.

The latest version PSE3 is probably all anyone who isn't an out-and-out professional would need.

PSE3 is superb I love it. I have used PSE and PSE2 but neither are a patch on PSE3 well worth the money

What in PSE3 is useful over PSE2? I have heard about the 'healing tool'. Is there anything else?

I think it has the "Photoshop Album" incorporated as well.

    broomie,

If you're new to editing, then I think Elements will be all you'll need for a very long time. It will do all you require and more. I've been using PSE2 for about 12 months (PSE1 before that) and I'm still finding out new things to do with it.

BTW you can get curves in PSE2 with plugins like Hidden Elements.

    Good luck,

    Steve
