Not bad seen as it's an old version of PS and my graphics card is not the best.

Swwils, shouldn't you have put the graphics card down too? Photoshop does use GPU acceleration.

    integrated graphics in all! Grin

The sandybridge has HD2000 openGL photoshop support, but atm I think its broken Sad.

If we get enough of these I will graph them up. ( interested in laptops!)

I'd be waiting about 3 years if I did it on my laptop. I'm due a replacement!

What do you expect? Your CPU is 3 years old!

So is mine and a far lesser system too but it's almost twice as quick. If anything I would have expected it to be the other way round. There must be a something amiss somewhere.

Does it matter how many running processes you have in the background? Are you supposed to disable some of these things?
I know you're only supposed to launch Photoshop whilst running the test but what about the programs running in the background?
For instance, the sidebar in Vista appears to be using up resourses, as does my Wacom tablet, AVG processes, Nero processes, etc, etc, etc.

You are meant to minimise it as much as possible, it probably took so long because he did not set history states to "1".

For instance my scores are with 20 history states.

    WIN 7 64bit
    Core2 Q8300
    4GB DDR2 800
    500MB HDD
    CS5

    28 seconds (1 history state)

Also it mentions setting your CPU to 100%, is this set that way by default, if not, where do you change it in Vista?

Why did you run it with 20 history states?? Surely the results will all be completely meaningless if we're all setting things up differently.
