Mercedes the polar bear has been "put to sleep" after a "recent rapid deterioration in her welfare", the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) has announced

No, she'd started moaning about everything and how it was better in the good old days! Wink

    Less tap more waltz Wink

She just looked a lot more lethargic, the 2 yr old doesn’t help when comparing them because he was running about playing with traffic cones, throwing them into the pond and leaping in after them etc like he’s on a night out, so just made the old yin look slower than usual

Polar bears are particularly intelligent creatures and imprisonment in a zoo doesn't seem to give them enough stimulation. There was one at Bristol zoo that basically went mad and had to be put down.

    Sad ain't it.

By the time anyone gave proper consideration to the Bristol bear the poor thing was beyond help and a very sorry sight to display to adults and children alike. I hope this Mercedes didn't suffer in the same way and that the zoo didn't inflict her misery on too many children before doing something about it.
