OK so this is not photo related but am I the only one that has noticed that some of the topics are difficult to understand simply due to the poor English being used?
I fully accept non English speaking members may have difficulties with our language, but some of the worsed recent entries have been from people that I know to be professional British togs.
Come on folks smarten up and take time to read your entry prior to posting.
By the way some of the English from the ED team could do with improvements take a good look through some of the recent magazine issues

LOL, Muphry's Law strikes again. Grin

That should be worst, surely Wink

I believe that the word "that" in the phrase "that I know to be..." is otiose; "I know to be... is all that is needed.

I really must get out more.

Sorry about this but did you read your post before posting?

Sneaky edit there, Mister Perkins. Smile Just in time, too!

Well, he mentioned his problem: the posts are sometimes hard to understand.

I can sympathise with that, though it’s always funny to see people criticising spelling or grammar while making their own mistakes. For that reason, I tend to keep my mouth shut about any language issues I come across, unless they directly interfere with my own understanding.

Most of the time it’s more a case of, ‘Oh, so he meant they’re there, not their. Got it.’ Only in rare cases am I completely flummoxed by mangled spelling or grammar.

Well, I learned about Muphry's Law, so it was worth reading the thread. Smile

And I see my spilling chucker has put a red line under Muphry's.

Oh pooh it's put a red line under chucker as well.

    OK point taken.
But as I said some entries are so difficult to understand.

Please 'like' this if I get the punctuation right, or repost corrected if I get it wrong?

By the way, some of the English from the ED team could do with improvements; take a good look through some of the recent magazine issues.

I sometimes laugh when I see how my very weird iPad Spell Checker makes up completely new words without me noticing.........it can have a mind of its own sometimes.

Eh once the internet went mobile on mobile phones and the like the English quality went down again. Even people who normally use good English come up against the problem that posting on a mobile phone or other tiny device gives you so little screen room to see the errors as easily and that typing on them is so much slower than on the keyboard attached to a computer or laptop.
