just come across this..ahh, yes, they were the days
At the time for me it was early Genesis (I took two full coachloads from Blackpool to liverpool empire with front row tickets on the second night of their "Supper's ready" tour),
ELP and Yes, Focus, and yes a smattering of the likes of Camel (Snowgoose was lovely), Curved Air (Sonja Kristina was fit), Greenslade.

Of all the above, some I can now listen to very occasionally for pure nostalgic cringe value (ELP, Yes), but only a handful would I listen to today as good timeless music - mainly Focus and Genesis (up to and including "Trick of the Tail", but especially Foxtrot ans Selling England..).
Finally, did anyone ever hear of Fruupp?? John peel was fond of them, from Belfast, like a naive version of Genesis - "the Prince of Heaven's Eyes" is maybe one of my top three all time albums)

Very finally, cringe value for pomposity again PFM, or Premiata Forneria Marconi from Italy
EEEE, them were't days...

Can't believe that no one has yet mentioned MAN arguably the best band to hail from Wales. Take a look at the link Jim.

Edit: and THIS one.
