Hi all.
I put together a musical slide show over the Christmas hols, partly to learn the slide show software and partly with a view to showing my greetings cards designs in a slightly different way.
Will (Photium) very kindly added it immediately to my web site (I have to add that the customer service from Photium is honestly the absolute best - and no, he didn't pay me to say that! lol
)
Anyway, the down side to the ProShow slide show for my web site, is that anyone wishing to view it has to download some sort of viewing software first, it only takes a few moments I think, but in this day and age of instant everything, my thinking is that no-one will want to bother. And I do understand that. So I'm not sure that it's actually worth having the show on the web site.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
If you want to see what I'm talking about the show is on my web site www.nataliekinnearphotography.co.uk, and click on Greetings Cards Slide Show on the home page menu at the top.
Thanks
Natalie
Photodex Presenter!
I see what you mean. Unfortunately I'm at work and these machines don't let you install anything. Will check it out when I get home!
Thanks. Yes that's exactly it. I was so pleased to have been able to include the show on my web site, but I really do think that people won't bother to view it as it's too much of a fiddle. So I'm thinking I might take it off again and just go back to ordinary images. It's a shame though cos the slide show is slightly light hearted and I'm thinking just a little more fun than straight images.

Don't take it off yet! I am too curious now! Besides, embedding slideshows is a great way to show off pictures. Plus I also found that it is a good way to display them and not allow anyone to steal them!
Yes don't worry, I'll leave it up for a while and just see if anyone actually views it. Thanks for your interest
Natalie
Okay thanks. There is a flash show output option, and the one I already did, which needed the Photodex Presenter bit, was the web show output.
Do people necessarily have what's needed on their computer to view flash though?
Natalie
If someone can tell me how to produce a slideshow this slick and fast loading, please let me know!
ooh I could watch this for hours...
That slideshow was great! Nice and quirky, and an ingeniuous choice of music!
Yes, most people have flash installed on their browsers. It is one of the most common plugins, unlike Photodex Presenter which I have never even heard of. Unfortunately a lot of people don't like to install anything they're unfamiliar with.
Thanks. Yes I agree, and people are quite rightly justified in being very cautious regarding what they install on their computers. I have tried a flash output version, but it didn't come out too well. So I will have few more attempts and see if I can tweak the settings a bit to get a more satisfactory result.
Thanks everyone for your comments.
Natalie
By the way if anyone would like to see the slide show without loading up the Photodex Presenter software bit, just go to www.photodex.com, click on 'Sharing' then 'Browse Member', then my member name is NatalieKinnear (no spaces). I would appreciate any comments on the slide show as well. Not asking much am I
(smiles sweetly and bats eyelids) lol
Thanks

epz slide show tutorial
Hello Natalie,
I've just viewed your website and looked at the card slide show.
The link above is for the tutorial by Pete for creating a slides show Using Windows Movie Maker. I used it to create one for EphotozineTV as I couldn't use the one I'm used to.
I like the show but to my taste the transitions are a bit too quick and you don't see the cards for long enough.
The website as a whole is very attractive and if I was looking for someone to photograph a dog in your area I'd definitely seek you out.
