I'll add my condolences to the list. Deep Purple were a little before my time but I still love their music, and they influenced many of my favourites too...

I saw Deep Purple in 1972 in Plymouth on the Fireball tour, an unforgettable night ( I was 16 I think !) !! So RIP Jon, you will be sadly missed !!!!

( off to play Machine Head very LOUDLY !!!!!! )

Weren't really my cup of tea in their heyday, appreciate them more now, I saw a good BBC-4 documentary about them and Jon Lord came over really well, I really liked him. What a sad loss
